Creative, Expressive, and Talk Psychotherapy
Utilizing an integration of verbal psychotherapy, traditional talk therapy, creative arts therapy, and mindfulness, our clinicians create a safe and supportive environment where clients are free to express thoughts and feelings as well as navigate their way to a happy and successful life utilizing a variety of verbal, visual and expressive modalities.
When are therapy sessions usually held?
Therapy appointments are approximately 45 minutes long. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, If CDC regulations are met, sessions may be held in person at our offices in Nyack New York, but as interactions in the virtual environment have become more acceptable and impactful, many are held via Google Meets video conferencing. In either environment, it is important to attend therapy regularly as consistency in psychotherapy is an important part of the therapeutic process.
Are sessions confidential?
Developing and maintaining a trusting relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and all aspects of the psychotherapy session are kept confidential. Information pertaining to the client can only be provided to others when the client provides a written consent via signed HIPAA forms. The only exceptions to this policy are when serious safety concerns arise. If there is suspected child or elder abuse or neglect, or if the client presents as a serious danger to themselves or others, New York state law and helping professional ethics mandate that the therapist must break confidentiality in order to ensure the safety of any and all persons involved.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life absolutely happens and if you need to cancel or reschedule a therapy session, we ask that you provide notice a minimum of 24 before the scheduled session.
How can I pay for therapy?
We accept cash, checks, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle Pay, and credit card payments may be accepted via Square (with a small convenience fee added) Payment may be paid after each session, monthly or in pre-paid blocks of sessions or as mutually agreed upon.
Do you offer sliding scales?
We understand that each client is an individual and that psychotherapy like many medical services can get expensive, especially when it’s a recurring expense. If you are in need of a sliding scale in order to pursue treatment, we would be happy to discuss our options.
Do you accept insurance?
At the moment, Integrated Creative Therapy psychotherapeutic services are out-of-network for all insurance providers. Insurance companies often reimburse for out-of-network services. Please call your insurance company for additional information.
